In 1994, PT GE Nusantara Turbine Services was established as part of GE’s global supply chain. 25 years later, it has now transformed into a global repair Center of Excellence for next-generation repair capabilities for B- and E- class gas turbines. PT Gents has expanded its facility capabilities, and invested in both high tech equipment as well as a stronger workforce with upskilled talent to better serve customers worldwide.
The PT GENTS Global Center of Excellence today is the outcome of a transformation that took place in one year with the backdrop of stringent COVID safety measures in place. With a focus on LEAN principles, the facility has worked hard to improve processes to eliminate waste, reduce cycle time, and increase responsiveness. This has enabled the center to approximately halve gas turbine component repair cycle time, and increase capacity growth to over 90% in the next two years.
