This week, GE Power Conversion convened with the world’s leading navies and industry at IMDEX Asia, to showcase its electric ship power and propulsion solutions. IMDEX represents a respected platform within the large Asia Pacific maritime sector in Singapore, where GE Power Conversion showcased electrification technologies that are helping the world’s leading navies to energize their missions.GE Power Conversion has an industry-leading, complete range of electric ship technologies, and decades of naval sector experience with 15 different navies around the world.

GE Power Conversion and GE Marine will showcase their power and propulsion solutions at this year’s Euronaval 2022 industry exhibition in Paris, October 18-21, 2022, Booth F91. GE Power Conversion will showcase electrification technologies that are helping the world’s leading navies to energize their missions with very high levels of power-sharing flexibility. Solutions range from full naval-specification, high voltage electric grids for power and propulsion, to cost-effective hybrid electrification options.

Today the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and GE Power Conversion provides a boost to the indigenous capability in the field of advanced technology for Integrated Full Electric Propulsion System  

GE and its partners secure a project award under the UK government’s Supply Chains for Net Zero initiative, part of the Driving the Electric Revolution challenge. GE Power Conversion will work on an innovative electrification solution for space-constrained, high power industrial applications. GE will work with partners Dynex Semiconductor, the University of Nottingham and the Warwick Manufacturing Group.  

Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding, in partnership with GE, will deliver a new Combat Support Ship to the Royal Netherlands Navy. GE’s robust, proven electric propulsion technology was selected for its low noise signature, high level of reliability and commonality with the Joint Support Ship (HNLMS Karel Doorman). GE’s Power Conversion business have signed a contract with Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding (DSNS) to deliver an energy management and electric propulsion package intended for the new Combat Support Ship (CSS) in use at Royal Netherlands Navy.
