Configuring the Moving Alarm block
To configure the Moving Alarm block
Double click on the Moving Alarm block to open up the Moving Alarm Properties page. Now you can add, modify, or remove alarm rules.
To add an alarm rule
-
Click on the NEW RULE drop-down list and select one of the following rule templates. In all cases, the rule triggers when a certain number of outliers is detected in the window on the same side of the defined boundaries. While each of these templates provides default settings, these can be modified.
-
Consecutive counts outside 1 sigma
-
This template specifies a sigma offset of 1 sigma and a default trigger of 4 outliers in a window of 5 consecutive samples.
-
-
Consecutive counts outside 2 sigma
-
This template specifies a sigma offset of 2 sigmas and a default trigger of 2 outliers in a window of 3 consecutive samples.
-
-
Consecutive counts outside 3 sigma
-
This template specifies a sigma offset of 3 sigmas and a default trigger of 1 outlier in a window of 1 sample.
-
-
Consecutive counts on same side of centre line
-
This template specifies a sigma of zero and a default trigger of 8 outliers in a window of 8 consecutive samples.
-
-
-
Select the Input Field to which you would like the rule applied.
-
Use the Maximum window size spinner to specify the number of consecutive samples you want the rule to cover at a time.
-
Use the Number of outliers to activate rule spinner to specify how many outliers must be found in the window before activating the rule.
-
Use the radio buttons to specify how you want to define the boundaries outside which the alarm is triggered. The boundaries you define may be set via Limits or via Center Line +/- Sigma Offset.
-
Set the boundaries for your chosen method. You can set numerical values or select existing fields from the list of fields specified by Field Name on the right hand side.
-
For Limits you can specify a Lower Limit and an Upper Limit respectively.
-
For Center Line +/- Sigma Offset, specify the Center Line, the Sigma, and the Number of Sigmas to offset from the center line.
-
-
Indicate whether you want to Ignore bad quality input data. If this option is selected then bad quality input data points are not added to the window and have no impact on output data quality.
-
Specify the name your would like to give to your Output Field.
-
Click Apply if you wish to add more rules or click Save when you have finished adding rules.
To remove an alarm rule
-
Select the rule you wish to remove.
