Configuring the Template block

Overview

  • Configure

    Opens the field matching dialog for the selected input port.
  • Refresh

    Rescans the external template file for any changes to the input ports and output ports contained in the User Template (CUT) file.

  • Open in Architect

    Opens the CUT file in a new instance of the Architect for editing.

Configuring the template block

  1. Browse for the User Template file the template block should refer to using the browse button.

  2. Click on each of the ports listed in the external CUT file, and the Configure option will become available. Click the configure button to map them to the fields contained in the ports connected to the template block itself.

  3. Field mapping: when configuring the ports, map the fields to the template block to the correct data source before deploying them. This ensures that the added input and output ports are correct each time you use the template block.

  4. Once all ports are matched showing "n out of n" matched click OK to apply your changes and exit the configuration.

Refreshing the template block

Template blocks must be refreshed manually in order to rescan the external CUT files for any changes to their input or output ports.  

To Refresh a single template block:

  1. Open the template block configuration page by double-clicking the block in the Architect.

  2. Click the Refresh button

  3. Ensure that all ports are still mapped fully.

  4. Click OK.

To Refresh all template blocks in a blueprint:

  1. From the Templates menu select the Update... option.
