Configuring the Optimized Database Sink block

Properties

Data Source:

The data source provider for this Database source block.

Table:

Either select or specify the required table. Depending on the option selected here, the fields and values table options below will vary.

Selected/Specified Fields Table:

The fields table containing the field definitions for this source.

Selected/Specified Values Table:

The values table containing the time series data for the fields specified in the Fields Table property.

Clear Tables on startup:

Delete all data from the values table upon first execute.

Saved timestamp reference:

Possible values for this property are:

Local – All timestamps will be written in local time.
UTC – All timestamps will be converted to UTC before being written, taking into consideration Daylight Saving Time.

You will need to know if the text file or database table was written using UTC or local time. UTC must be used during realtime execution in the Server Manager.

Blueprints executing in the Server Manager are unaffected by a changeover to Daylight Saving Time. However, blueprints containing this block must have the “Saved timestamp reference” values set to UTC.

Automatic reconnects:

If enabled, execution will not stop if the connection to the server fails. If disabled, blueprint execution will be stopped should the connection to the specified database fails.

Association TAB

Use the Association TAB to map tags in the blueprint to existing tags in the database. Use the Import and Export buttons to import or export fields associations from a text file. (CSV files are supported). This is useful for mapping large amounts of tags to existing tags in a database.
