Configuring the Subtractor block

  1. To open the block property page (the page on which the block configuration is specified), either double click on the block or right-click on the block and select Block Properties.

  2. The list of fields in input port 1 (the top input port) is listed in the Input Port 1 pane under Field 1, the list of fields in the second input port (the bottom input port) is displayed in the Input Port 2 pane on the right-hand side of the property page.

  1. To associate two fields, click on the appropriate field in the Field 1 list, then double click on the field with which it should be associated in the Input Port 2 pane (in the Field 2 list).  Alternatively, click on the appropriate field in the Field 1 list, then click on the field with which it should be associated in the Input Port 2 pane (in the Field 2 list) and then click on the < button.

  1. If the << button is clicked, the block will associate the fields in input port 1 with those in input port 2 automatically.

  1. The output field (difference between Field 1 and Field 2) is automatically assigned a generic name. This name is of the form Field1_Field2 (for example, CoreTemp_SensorTemp). If there are name clashes, a number is concatenated on the end of the name to make it unique, so that the name takes the form Field1_Field2_n, where n is incremented for each additional field with that name (for example, CoreTemp_SensorTemp_1, CoreTemp_SensorTemp_2).  To change the name of an output field simply single click twice on the output field name or single click on the output field name and press F2, then type in the new name.

  2. To break the association between two fields, click on the appropriate field in the Input Port 1 list, then click on the > button.

  3. To break all associations, click on the >> button

  4. Click Apply to accept changes or OK to accept changes and close the block property page.
