Introduction to User Blocks
User Blocks are the extended version of Superblocks or pre-configured blueprints that have been created according to specific requirements and published to the User Blocks palette. The user Blocks are saved as *.cub file in the C:\ProgramData\Proficy CSense\User Blocks folder. If you need to use a specific Superblock in multiple places in your blueprints, you may consider publishing the Superblock as a User Block to the User Blocks palette.
User blocks serve as "wrappers" for the blueprint functionality contained. No data sources or sinks are attached. This makes it convenient to reuse the same functionality in different blueprints, without having to configure the functionality again.
Unlike a Template, making changes in the original Superblock does not update the Published User Block.
NOTE: As a best practice, the functionality of a user block may be kept confidential by protecting it with a password.
