Naming the Database

Once you enable SCADA support, you can define the process database you want to load when iFIX starts. You can also change the database name from the main SCU window by double-clicking the database entry (located under the Node name entry).

NOTE: iFIX comes with an empty database file named EMPTY.PDB. This database is read-only. By loading and saving the database to a different name you can quickly create an empty, working database. We recommend that you create a new database with a new name to prevent overwriting your work when re-installing or upgrading software.
