This topic describes the two ways in which it is possible to add a Reference Document to a record:
Steps
To store an uploaded file internally in the Meridium Enterprise APM database:
To create a new Reference Document, select
A new Reference Document datasheet appears.
In the Document Path field, select
The Edit Document Path window appears.
Select Upload a Local File to store the internal reference document in the Meridium Enterprise APM database, and then select Browse and select a file to upload.
Select Save.
The document path is added to the datasheet.
Note: For internal reference documents, the Document Path field will contain the file name. For external reference documents, the Document Path field will contain a hyperlink to the document.
Select
The Reference Document is saved.
To link to a file located on an external shared network:
To create a new Reference Document, select
A new Reference Document datasheet appears.
In the Document Path field, select
The Edit Document Path window appears.
Select
The file is saved as an external Reference Document on the network server you established.
Note: Before you can link to an external network file, you must configure your network's server credentials in Meridium Enterprise APM.
Steps
Access the Reference Documents for the record to which you want to link another Reference Document.
On the upper-right corner of the page, select
A Search window appears.
Select
-or-
If you know the name of the Reference Document that you want to link, enter the name in the search bar.
Select the check box next to the Reference Document that you want to link, and then select OK.
The Reference Document is linked to the record.
