Create Corrosion Analysis Settings

Before an asset can be accessed via the Thickness Monitoring Overview, you must create Corrosion Analysis Settings for that asset.

Steps

1. On the top navigation bar, select .

   The Asset Hierarchy appears.

2. In the Asset Hierarchy, select the asset for which you want to create corrosion analysis settings.

3. Below the workspace heading, select the Strategy tab, and then, in the Thickness Monitoring row, select TML Groups.

   Note: TML Groups will only appear if you have selected an asset. If you have selected a functional location, Assets replaces TML Groups.

   The TM page appears, displaying the Corrosion Analysis Settings workspace.

   

   By default, the Inspection Type box is set to UT. Additionally:

   • The Controlling Corrosion Rate is set to Maximum.
   • The Std Deviation Factor, Remaining Life Critical Number of TMLs, Minimum Corrosion Rate, and Remaining Life Factor boxes are populated with values.
   • The Short Term, Long Term, Factor Remaining Life, and Inspection Interval check boxes are selected.
4. Modify the settings that were automatically defined, and enter values into the other boxes. This step is optional.

5. Select Create Settings.

Results

• The corrosion analysis settings are saved.
• A Corrosion Analysis for the asset is created and calculated.
