Delete a Family

You cannot delete a baseline family. You can delete only non-baseline families.

Steps

1. Access Family Management page.

2. Depending on the type of family you want to delete, select the Entity or the Relationship.

   -or-

   Select to search for a family.

   The list of families arranged in a hierarchy appear in the left pane.

3. In the family hierarchy, select the family that you want to delete.

4. In the right pane, select .

   The Delete Family dialog box appears, confirming your selection to delete the family.

5. Select OK.

   The Delete Family dialog box closes and a confirmation message appears indicating that the family is deleted

Results

When you delete a family from the database, the following items are also deleted:

• Successor relationship definitions
• Predecessor relationship definitions
• Family rules
• Family datasheets
• Family fields
• Physical tables and views associated with that family
