Product Search Dialog Box

The Product Search dialog box is called from various areas throughout Plant Applications and is used primarily to search for existing products. You can also create new products using this dialog box.

To search for products

1. Select a product family in the Product Families Pane, or select <Any> to search all products within all families.

2. Enter a product code, or any part of a product code, in Prod Code to further limit the search within the selected product family. Underscores, underlines, and other special characters are not recognized.

3. Click Search. Results are displayed in the Products Pane.

4. In the Products Pane, select the product you want and then click OK. The Product Search dialog box closes, and the original dialog box now displays the selected product.

To create a new product and associate it with an existing family

1. Click New to open the New Product dialog box.

2. Enter a Description (long name) for the product.

3. Enter a Code for the product.

4. Choose a product family with which to associate the product from the Family drop-down list.

5. Click OK. The new product can now be found when you search the associated family.
