Search Variable dialog box
Use this dialog box to search for and select specific types of variables, based on the type of display you are configuring. For example, if you are configuring a time-based Autolog Display, only variables with an Event Type of Time will be displayed.
The Search Variable dialog box allows you to search for variables two ways. On the General tab, you can search for variables on a Production Line or Production Unit. On the Advanced tab, you can apply filters to your variable search.
To search for variables by Production Line or Unit

In the Search Variable dialog box, click the General tab.

Do one of the following:

To search all production units in your plant model, select <Any Unit>.

To search for variables on a specific production line or unit, navigate to the desired production line or unit.

To search for variables by variable name, type all or a portion of the variable name in the Description box.

Click the Search button.

In the Search Results list, select the variables you want to add to your display. To select all variables, select the Select All option.

Click OK.
To use filters to search for variables

In the Search Variable dialog box, click the Advanced tab.

Do one or more of the following:

To filter by Data Source, select the appropriate data source from the list.

To filter by Sampling Type, select the appropriate sampling type from the list.

To filter by Event Type, select the appropriate event type from the list.

Under View Columns, select the columns you want to view in the Search Results list.

To limit your search results to variables that have a variable alias, select the Variable Alias Only option.

Click the Search button.

In the Search Results list, select the variables you want to add to your display. To select all variables, select the Select All option.

Click OK.
