What is an ISV Action Object?
An Independent Software Vendor Action Object (ISV Action Object) is an exported file from either the Continuous Troubleshooter or Architect. This file can be executed through the use of the 32-bit COM ISV Object specifically designed for the purpose.
Why do we use ISV Action Objects?
The ISV Action Object provides an elegant way for users to embed Proficy CSense code within external applications. ISV Action Objects enable ISVs to execute the logic, developed in any application, contained within the ISV file.
ISV files have no data sources and sinks, the data flow is managed from within the user’s application. Users supply the input values, and click [execute]. Outputs are then calculated according to the code of the ISV.
A script is written within the application to:
-
control the movement of data into and out of the ISV file.
-
set an execution schedule for the blueprint function in the ISV file.
