Upgrade Policy Designer

Before You Begin

The following tables outline the steps that you must complete to upgrade this module to the latest version of Essentials.

These tasks may be completed by multiple people in your organization. We recommend, however, that the tasks be completed in the order in which they are listed.

Note: Once you upgrade the Essentials to the V4.6.0.0.0 release, check the upgrade utility log to see the list of Delete Entity node and Create Relationship nodes that were not upgraded automatically.

Procedure

Upgrade to the latest version of Essentials., and then perform the following step, if needed:


Step	Task	Notes
1	Configure the alternative query for the Policy Designer Overview page.	This step is optional. You can perform this step if you are facing performance issues with the Policy Designer Overview page.
2	Review and upgrade the following items: Baseline Policies Relationship Nodes Delete Entity Nodes Nodes in Sub Policies Policies and Queries referencing Content GUIDs Query nodes Policy Instances	This step is required. For more information, refer to About Upgrading Policy Designer and Family Policies.
