Link Assets to a System/Node

This topic describes how to link one or more Assets (Equipment and Functional Locations) to a System/Node.

Hint: You can link Assets to a System/Node only if the corresponding Hazards Analysis is in the Planning state.

Steps

Access the System/Node that you want to link to Assets.
In the Equipment box on the datasheet, select .

The Search window appears.
In the upper-right corner of the window, select .

A list of Equipment appears.
Select the check box that corresponds to the Equipment that you want to link to the System/Node, and then select OK.

The selected Equipment are linked to the System/Node.
In the Functional Location(s) box on the datasheet, select .

The Search window appears.
In the upper-right corner of the window, select .

A list of Functional Locations appears.
Select the check box that corresponds to the Functional Location that you want to link to the System/Node, and then select OK.

The selected Functional Location are linked to the System/Node.

The Assets that you have linked to the System/Node are automatically linked to the corresponding Hazards Analysis.
If this is the first Asset in the System/Node, then the Meridium Enterprise APM system creates an asset group. Otherwise, the asset group that corresponds to the System/Node is updated with the newly added Assets.
The name of the Asset Group is populated in the Equipment and Functional Location(s) fields on the System/Node datasheet. If you want to unlink an Asset from the System/Node, you must access the Asset Group.
