About Offline Access

If you are using Meridium Enterprise APM Mobile Application, then the Rounds Data Collection module allows you take readings either online or offline. The default option is online, which means the mobile device must be connected to the network while you take readings.

Following are the options for data synchronization between the mobile device and Meridium Enterprise APM:

Download Horizon: Increasing this value will download the Route data to the mobile device in advance. If you anticipate that the device will be disconnected for extended periods of time, select a longer horizon. This will enable you to access the Routes that will become due during the period that the device is disconnected. The default value is Zero (don't download in advance).
Sync Interval: Increasing the Sync Interval will reduce the frequency at which the mobile device checks for updates to the Routes that are enabled for offline access. The interval can be increased if the network bandwidth is limited or costly. The default value is One Minute.

If needed, you can modify these values by selecting the Device Settings button in the upper-right corner of the Rounds Data Collection Overview page.

However, when you are taking readings in the online mode, if you are disconnected from the network, you may lose data. To avoid this issue, you can enable offline access for the Route before you start data collection.

When you enable offline access for a Route:

The Route information, along with the latest five Readings, is downloaded into the mobile device that you will use for data collection.
You can enter readings and mark a Route done even if the mobile device is disconnected from the network. When the reading for a Measurement Location is saved to the mobile device, the icon in the upper-right corner of the datasheet changes to (blue color).
When you reconnect the mobile device to the network, any readings that you have taken while offline will be uploaded automatically to the Meridium Enterprise APM database. The icon in the upper-right corner of the datasheet for each Measurement Location changes to (blue color), indicating that the reading is uploaded to the database.
