Create a New Degradation Mechanism Evaluation (DME) Family

Steps

  1. Access the Family Management page .
  2. In the left pane, navigate to and select Criticality Degradation Mech Evaluation.

The Criticality Degradation Mech Evaluation workspace appears.

  3. In the left pane, select .

A new Criticality Degradation Mech Evaluation datasheet appears, displaying the Information section.

  4. Enter values in the available fields, and then select .

Note: Fields selected to spread to Sub-Families from the parent RBI Degradation Mechanism Evaluation and the Criticality Degradation Mech Evaluation families will automatically populate in the new family.

The new DME family is saved, and the workspace for that new DME family appears.

  5. In the workspace for the new DME family, select the Datasheets tab.

    The Datasheets section appears.

  6. Select Manage Datasheets.

A message appears, indicating that the new DME family does not currently have any associated datasheets.

  7. Select OK.

    The Datasheet Builder page appears.

  8. In the upper-right corner of the page, select , and then select Custom Datasheet.

The Create New Datasheet window appears.

  9. On the Create New Datasheet window, enter unique values in the Caption, Default ID, and Description cells, and then select OK.

Note: If you want your datasheet to be the default datasheet for this family, select the Default check box.

    A new datasheet appears.

  10. In the upper-right corner of the workspace, select .

A new section tab appears on the datasheet.

  11. On the new section tab, enter a custom name for the tab, and then select Table Layout for the datasheet.

  12. In the upper-left corner of the datasheet, select .

A table appears in the workspace.

  13. In the table, enter a unique name in the Caption Input field, and then, in the Available Items pane, select the field that you want to associate with the Caption Input field, and then drag it to the workspace for that tab.

Tip: It is recommended you add both the Custom Calculation Policies Used and the Custom Calculation Used fields to your datasheet. This will indicate which policies were fired during calculation as well as indicate whether or not a custom calculation was used.
Note: You can use the different features of the Table Layout to customize your datasheet.
  14. Select Save.

  15. Return to the Family Management page.

  16. In the left pane, select the Relationship tab, and then navigate to and select the Has RBI Degradation Mechanism Evaluation family.

The Relationship: Has RBI Degradation Mechanism Evaluation workspace appears.

  17. Select the Relationship Definition tab.

    The Relationship Definition section appears.

  18. In the upper-right corner of the section, select .

The Manage Relationship Definition window appears.

  19. On the Manage Relationship Definition window:

  20. Select Add.

The new Relationship Definition is added to the Has RBI Degradation Mechanism Evaluation Relationship Family, and it appears in the Relationship Definition section.

  21. Select .

The new Degradation Mechanism Evaluation family is created.
