Create Custom Degradation Mechanism Evaluation (DME) Validation Policies

Steps

1. Create a new policy to validate your custom DME.

2. Select .

3. On the Policy Designer page, in the left pane, select Design.

   The Design workspace appears.

   

4. On the workspace heading, in the Inputs section, select, and then select Entity.

   A new Entity node appears in the Design workspace.

   

5. Select the new Entity node, and then, in the Properties box, in the Family ID field, select the family of the custom DME you are validating

   Note: Repeat steps 4 and 5 to add any other entity nodes required for validations, such as Analysis validations, Consequence Evaluation validations, or validations for other DMEs that are related to the same analysis.

6. Using the Input Entity nodes, perform all required validations.

   • For each failed validation, insert a Return Value node that has the error message that the user wants to see when validating the policy.
   • Error messages should be no more than 255 characters. Each Return Value node must be unique, and the characters in the node will not be localized.

   • When using the Is Null node, enter a value of -1. Using an Equal node, compare the Is Null node output to -1.

     

7. Select .

   The custom DME validation policy is saved.
