Configuring a Waste+ Display

NOTE: The Waste displays are available only if you have purchased an Efficiency license. To assistance, go to our Support site: https://digitalsupport.ge.com/.

The Waste+ display can be used with a touch screen or keyboard and shows waste events in real time.

Prerequisites

Before you configure the Waste+ display, you must:

To configure a Waste+ display

  1. In the Plant Applications Administrator, expand Client Management and expand Displays.

  2. Right-click a display group, point to Add New Display, and select Waste+. An active entry field is added under the display group.

  3. Type the name of the display and press ENTER.

  4. Double-click the new display or right-click and select Edit <display name>. The Edit Display - <display name> dialog box appears.

  5. On the General tab, under Window Settings (Hrs), do the following:

  6. In the Initial box, type the number of hours of data to load when the display is opened. The default value is 24 hours. The time the display is opened is the starting point. For example, if the Initial value is 24 and the Waste+ display is opened at 8:00 AM on July 15, 2008, then all waste events that occurred from 8:00 AM July 15, 2008 to 8:00 AM July 14, 2008 will be displayed.

  7. In the Max box, type the number of hours of data to view in the display. This value should be greater than or equal to the Initial value. The default value is 24 hours.

  8. In the Max Edit box, type the number of hours that data can be edited in the display. The default value, 0, means that all data can be edited. If you type 2 in the box, only the past 2 hours of data can be edited.

  1. Click the Units tab to select the production units on which you want to detect waste events. Only the units that have been configured to detect waste events will be available for selection.

NOTE: the number of units selected will affect performance. In general, the greater number of units selected, the slower the performance.

  1. Click the Display Options tab to customize the waste display. To change any of the display option, click the Edit button. The Assign Property Value dialog box appears.

The following option groups are available.

  2. Color schemes:The default scheme is the same as the classic waste display. For information about creating a new color scheme, see Color Schemes.

    • Rows shaded green indicate time-based waste events.

    • Black text indicates the event is complete and all the required information has been provided.
