Precision Calibration Settings

Configure Precision Calibration Settings

About This Task

As a Calibration Administrator, you can enable precision calibration, specify the number of measurement sets, and specify the precision limit that determines whether the precision calibration has passed or failed.
Note:
  • Precision calibration is only applicable to manual calibration.
  • Precision calibration is not available for discrete and functional test calibrations.

Procedure

  1. Access the Calibration Admin Preferences page.
  2. In the pane, select the Precision Calibration Settings tab.
The Precision Calibration Settings workspace appears, displaying a list of folder path settings for the Precision Calibration.
  3. Enter values as described in the following table:
    FieldDescription
Enable Precision CalibrationSelect the check box to enable precision calibration. If you do so, the pass/fail result of a calibration is based on both the trueness and precision calculations. For information on the calculations, refer to Calibration Management Calculations section.
Number of Measurement SetsEnter the number of sets of measurements that you want to use for precision. The minimum value is 3, and the recommended maximum value is 5
Precision LimitEnter the maximum precision limit for the readings. The value in this field is used to determine whether the precision calibration has passed. The recommended value is between 0 to 1
  4. Select Save.
The precision calibration settings are configured.

Results

When you perform a precision calibration, you can enter values for multiple sets of measurements for each test point. Only if both the trueness and precision of a calibration are within the respective error limits, the calibration is considered passed.
