RBI 580 and RBI 581

Table 1. Enhancements and New Features

The following enhancements and new features have been added.

DescriptionTracking ID
You can now map RBI Components linked to an Asset on the Schematic View (2D Visualization) and visualize the risk of the components. To enable this enhancement, you can now access Schematic View from the Asset Summary workspace. An active Mechanical Integrity 2D Visualization license is required to avail this functionality.921600
You can now model an RBI Component as a Sphere. To facilitate this enhancement, a new component type named Sphere has been added and is available when creating components with the Cylindrical Shell family. Additionally, Sphere has been added to the Equipment Types family. This enhancement will allow for the calculation of inventory for spheres for both RBI 581 Risk Analyses and RBI 580 Criticality Analyses.916882
You can now customize field mappings from RBI Recommendations to Actions when promoting an RBI Asset to Asset Strategy Management. To facilitate this enhancement, the field mappings for RBI Recommendation to Actions have been moved to Policy Manager and a new policy named RecommendationToActionMapping has been added.880136
You can now customize field mappings from RBI Degradation Mechanisms to Risks when promoting an RBI Asset to Asset Strategy Management. To facilitate this enhancement, the field mappings for RBI Degradation Mechanisms to Risks have been moved to Policy Manager and a new policy named DegradationMechanismToRiskMapping has been added.880134
To improve usability, you can now open the RBI Bulk Evergreening workspace from the Process Unit workspace. The RBI Bulk Evergreening workspace will display any analyses eligible for evergreening, which are linked to assets related to the given process unit. 867344
An error message will now be displayed when finalizing the risk of an RBI Analysis that has not been calculated after additional field changes have been made. This will be indicated on the RBI Analysis page by the orange-colored calculator button. This option can be turned off by clearing the Calculation Required before Risk Completion check box under the RBI Admin Settings. 867341
Table 2. Resolved Issues

The following issues, which existed in one or more previous versions, have been resolved.

DescriptionTracking ID
Previously, analyses in custom states were considered active and were included when rolling up the risk categories for an Inspection Plan. This issue has been resolved. Now, analyses in custom states are excluded from the risk category roll-up for an Inspection Plan.1019742
Previously, if an RBI Analysis was in any state other than Created or Archived, it was marked as Active in the RBI Tree (indicated by ). This issue has been resolved. Now, any custom state is marked Inactive in the RBI Tree (indicated by ).1019738
Previously, when finalizing an RBI Criticality Analysis with a configured Risk Category value, an error occurred. If the Alternative Inspection Plan was enabled, the error occurred while updating the inspection plan. This issue has been resolved. Now, user-configured risk categories are not considered in the RBI Inspection Plan Risk Category field.1012586
Previously, tile counts were not displayed on the Risk Based Inspection Overview workspace due to performance issues. To enhance performance of the Risk Based Inspection Overview workspace, the following catalog query has been updated: Public\Meridium\Modules\Risk Based Inspection\Queries\Inspections More Current Than All Analysis967980
Previously, the Require Calculation field, which turns the Calculator button to orange on the RBI Analysis Page, was not set to true on analyses when linking or unlinking TML Groups from the parent RBI Component. This issue has been resolved. 959779
Table 3. Obsolete Features

The following features are no longer available.

Table 4. Enhancements and New Features

The following enhancements and new features have been added.

Previously, the Personal Injury Constants for Acid-LP, Acid-MP, and Acid-HP were incorrect. This issue has been resolved. As a result, the SHE consequence area for these specific fluids may be affected. To update any pre-existing analyses, which will be affected by this change, follow the steps in KBA 000071457.996649
To improve usability, while duplicating an RBI 581 Risk analysis, creating a 581 What-If analysis, or applying an RBI 581 Risk Analysis within the RBI Asset, the linked inspections on the following Degradation Mechanism Evaluations will automatically be assigned to the Degradation Mechanism Evaluations in the newly created RBI 581 Risk analysis, if the Use Combined Confidence check box is selected:
  • RBI 581 Cracking Damage Evaluation
  • RBI 581 External Cracking Damage Evaluation
943747
To improve usability, while duplicating an RBI 581 Risk analysis, creating a 581 What-If analysis, or applying an RBI 581 Risk Analysis within the RBI Asset, the linked inspections on the following Degradation Mechanism Evaluations will automatically assigned to the Degradation Mechanism Evaluations in the newly created RBI 581 Risk analysis if the Use Related Inspection check box is set checked:
  • RBI 581 Thinning and Lining Evaluation
  • RBI 581 External Damage Evaluation
  • RBI 581 HE Bundle Damage Evaluation
943743
To improve usability, the Allow Override of SHE Consequence Area field in an RBI 581 Consequence Evaluation is now dynamically disabled in scenarios where the SHE Consequence is not considered. To facilitate this enhancement, Allow Override of SHE Consequence Area is only enabled if the parent RBI 581 Risk Analysis is not linked to an RBI 581 HE Bundle Damage Evaluation and the Component Type of the parent RBI 581 Risk Analysis is not set to Storage Tank Bottom.919151
New materials are added to support RBI 581 calculations. To facilitate this enhancement, the following Material Cost Lookup records have been added:
MaterialCost Factor
Admiralty Brass1
Brass1
Duplex SS6.8
Super Duplex SS7
867333
Risk Mapping for an RBI 581 Risk Analysis linked to an RBI 581 HE Bundle Damage Evaluation is now performed using a new policy named MI_581HETB-DEF-RISK_MAPPING-OPERATIONS. This policy is used to map values from an RBI 581 Risk Analysis with values plotted on the default Risk Matrix.
Note: If you use a customized Risk Matrix, you must add the required RBI Risk Matrix Mapping records and update the policy to map with the custom Risk Matrix.
