Working with a Blueprint

A blueprint is a document that describes the calculations that have to be performed. It is equivalent to a block schematic and is used within the Architect to configure the settings for Proficy CSense implementations.

Diagram Edit window

The Diagram Edit window displays a superblock's contents visually. Each block is represented by an icon in a rectangular box with the block's unique name underneath. A block's input ports are represented by triangles pointing inwards to the block, while its output ports are represented by triangles pointing outwards.

Block

Data flow between blocks is established by clicking on an output port on one block and, while holding down the mouse button, dragging the generated line to the input port on the block to which you want data to flow. When the end of the line gets close to an available port it automatically jumps to that port (called the gravitation effect). To attach it to another port, simply continue to drag it to the intended port until it gravitates towards that port. Release the mouse button to create the link.

The Block Palette

The Block Palette is a container for all the blocks available to the blueprint developer, including a space for all user created superblocks (templates). The palette usually contains multiple panes, which are selectable by clicking on the appropriate pane's title bar.

Creating a new block in a superblock is as simple as dragging it from the palette onto the Diagram Edit Window for that superblock.
