Anatomy of a Waste+ Display

The Waste+ display enables plant floor operators to view and edit waste events, using either a touch screen or keyboard for navigating the display. The following image shows the Waste+ display in touch screen mode. A classic Waste Display is also available to interact with Waste detail data.  

The  Waste+ display in touch screen mode highlights information as follows:

  • Red text indicates missing reasons.

  • Rows that are shaded yellow indicate production events without details.

  • Rows that are shaded light green indicate time-based waste.

  • Black text indicates the event is complete and all the required information has been provided.

A Waste+ screen includes these areas:

1 Click or tap Grid Actions to:

  • Manually create a waste event, click or tap Insert Record.

  • Locate a waste event within a specific time period, click or tap Go to Date. The Date/Time Entry panel appears.

  • Hide confirmed waste events, click or tap Hide Confirmed.

  • Filter on selected columns, click or tap Build Advanced Filter.

  • Filter waste events by amount, click or tap Amount Filter and use the slider .

2 Click or tap Row Actions to:

NOTE: You must select a row to view or use Row Actions.

  • Expand grouped waste events, click or tap Expand Group.

  • Delete the selected waste event, click or tap Delete.

  • Copy and paste reasons, click or tap Copy Fault/Reasons. To copy and paste reasons, you must first view the waste event details, then copy and paste the reasons.

3 Click or tap a cell in the waste event row to edit reasons, amounts, and other information. Based on the selected cell, the appropriate panel (4) appears.

4 When you click or tap a row or a cell in a row, a panel appears with the appropriate data entry tools or selections.

5 Click or tap Change Size Mode to change to or from touch screen mode. This button is visible only if the display option, Allow Mode Toggle, has been set to True by the Plant Applications Administrator. For information about the display options, see Configuring a Waste+ Display.

6 When you change to touch screen mode, the on-screen keyboard button appears. Click this button to use the on-screen keyboard.

7 Select values easily by dragging the sliders.

8 The time range of the waste events is displayed at the top of the display.

9 Use the scroll buttons to page through the events in increments that are equal to one-fourth the time specified by the Initial Windows Setting.

Data Grid:
The Data Grid displays persistent data that is updated according to the specified time context, the default being Now.

 

Activity Panel:
The middle, dynamic area consists of panels that display when your actions require them or when you invoke them.

Tools Pane:
The bottom area acts as a toolbar and provides Grid Actions and Row Actions and common buttons, based on context.
