Essentials and ServiceMax Interaction

After installing and configuring the ServiceMax adapters, use Essentials to initiate and track work to be done for assets managed by a ServiceMax system. Consider the following example of Essentials and ServiceMax interaction:

• A Essentials user creates a Recommendation Record in Essentials.
• The Recommendation Record results in a Notification record that is sent to the ServiceMax system.
• The receiving system creates a Service Request Record from the Notification record that the ServiceMax administrator uses to create work orders.
• A technician updates the work order in ServiceMax after completing the work indicated by the work order.
• The Essentials user runs the Work History job that extracts information from the ServiceMax Service Request record and updates the Work History records in Essentials.
