Port Requirements

This section includes the latest information on ports that Plant Applications uses.

Port Requirements for Core Plant Applications

Use internal interfaces to open the ports required for Plant Applications operations.

Port Description
80 Used by Web server for serving traditional web reports.
1433 Used by SQL Server for communication to SQL.

Use the CXS_Service table in the Plant Applications database to modify the following ports.

Port Description
12293 Used by Proficy Server Manager for the Service Control feature of the Administrator.
12294 Used by Proficy Server Gateway for clients (including SDK) to send/receive Plant Applications messages.
12295 Used by Proficy Server Gateway for clients (including SDK) to send/receive Plant Applications messages.
12295 Used by older (4.0 and older) versions of Client Manager.
12299 Used by Proficy Server Remote Data Service, allowing Proficy services perform remote read and write operations to a historian.
12401 Used by Proficy License Manager for licensing requests from Proficy services to clients.
5672 Used by Plant Applications Web Client to connect to RabbitMQ.

Use INI files such as cmRTR.ini, cmConfigMgr.ini, PlantAppsMessging.ini, or Message.ini (found in the Plant Applications program installation directories), to modify the following ports:

Port Description
10000 Used by the Proficy message router to process Plant Applications messages between services clients communicating with the router.
12280 Used by the Proficy message router to process Plant Applications messages between services clients communicating with the router.

Port Requirements for Web Client

This section describes the port requirements for Plant Applications Web Client (Standard and Enterprise). Ensure that the ports described in the following table are opened before you install Plant Applications Web Client.

15672 The default port for the RabbitMQ Message bridge required to communicate with the Plant Applications server for retrieving data updates.
8090/8091 The default port for the Tomcat server.
1433 The default port for the Microsoft SQL server.
9093 The default port for Kafka.
2185 The default port for ZooKeeper.
6984 The default https port for CouchDB.
443/5059 The default port for Web Applications
