There’s nothing more important than the safety of our people

Operationalizing our safety culture

Starting work when it’s safe and stopping work when it’s not

Our comprehensive safety approach aims to reduce risk and empower our employees to make decisions that put safety at the forefront. Our safety policies and programs are prescribed to address the unique challenges created by our business's sheer size and scale, a geographically dispersed team, and our mix of physical work environments.

A foundation for safe environments

  • Best practices
  • Accountability

Leadership

Safety is personal. If we wouldn’t be comfortable putting a loved one in the situation or environment, then we won’t ask a co-worker to do the same. This is the safety-first mentality we embrace, complemented by modern tools and platforms that guide work with built-in safety measures. Our approach is proactive, and our goal is to instill confidence in the safety of every situation before, during, and after work is complete.

Best practices

GE Vernova’s EHS policies and procedures set forth clear and simple expectations. Building on that, our leaders engage employees and contractors around EHS goals and practices. Regular training and message reinforcement helps keep safety top of mind, and our site EHS teams are boots on the ground, helping to implement policies and navigate challenges both in the office and in the field.

Accountability

EHS compliance assurance comprises both formal and informal programs and are executed by EHS professionals and qualified third-party consultants. Additionally, our newest solutions go beyond administrative controls with structured processes for documenting safety before each step is complete. If work is stopped or an issue raised, our open reporting culture ensures issues are addressed and lessons learned are shared regularly across our business.

Rules to live by

Life Saving Rules

GE Vernova’s nine Life Saving Rules embed a culture of safety in our dynamic, high-risk work environments. These rules empower our employees and contractors to prioritize safety in manufacturing, field, and office-based environments. Below are three Life Saving Rules that are of particular importance to the GE Vernova Wind teams.

Transforming the industry

All safe together

The transformation of our safety culture must extend beyond GE Vernova—to not only our contractors and suppliers, but to the entire wind industry. We are on a mission to unite the industry in prioritizing safety and we are open about sharing best practices and partnering on initiatives to enhance standards globally. Safety is not proprietary. It is a shared commitment to build a stronger, safer energy industry for everyone.
