Ensure that the following components are installed on the servers that you want to add to a cluster:
Windows 2012
Microsoft SQL 2012
About this task
This topic describes how to add servers to a cluster that you can use with Proficy MDC. Perform the following steps for each server that you want to add to the cluster.
Procedure
On each server that you want to add to the cluster, install Active Directory domain services. To do so, in the Add Roles and Features Wizard window, select Server Roles, and then select the Active Directory Domain Services check box.
On each server that you want to add to the cluster, install the Failover Clustering features. To do so, in the Add Roles and Features Wizard window, select Features, and then select the Failover Clustering check box.
On each server that you want to add to the cluster, create a domain user account in the Administrator group.
Log in to each server using the domain user account that you have created.
Create a cluster using the servers, and, using the Failover Cluster Manager Wizard window, configure them to work with Microsoft SQL.
In the SQL Server Properties window, select the Enable AlwaysOn Availability Groups check box.
Use the domain name that you have created to start the SQL service on each server.
