About Status Indicators

Defects created in Plant Applications may be set to one of four major statuses during a typical life cycle. The defect statuses are primarily driven by the actions taken by the user during the disposition process. The following table provides information about each status and covers how they are affected by the disposition actions.

Status Description
Pending Disposition This status indicates that a defect is ready to be actioned on. Newly created defects are initially set to this status. Defects returning from successful completion of Rework, Complex Rework, or Continue to Process (CTP) disposition behaviors are also set to Pending Disposition state. Finally, if a disposition action is rejected by an approval user, the defect status resets to Pending Disposition.
Pending Approval This status indicates that a defect has been submitted for approval. No further action can be taken until the workflow is approved or rejected.
Active This status indicates that a defect is currently in progress, triggered by one of the following disposition behaviors.
  • Rework
  • Complex Rework
  • Continue to Process (CTP)
  • Material Review Board (MRB)
Closed This status indicates that all the disposition actions are completed and the defect is now closed.
