Raw Material Consumption

One of the major reasons for tracking genealogy is for consumption reporting (for example, reporting the amounts and types of raw materials consumed to make a product). As such, quantity is an important measure for genealogy. The amount of material used from the parent production event to create the child production event should be recorded in the Dimension_X field of the Event_Component record.

In addition, most processes have several steps between the raw materials and the final product, creating and consuming various intermediate products along the way. As such, to indicate which record actually refers to the raw material to report on, the Event_Components.Report_As_Consumption field should be set to 1.
