Consuming a Lot with the associated Material

You can now consume the specific material lot(s) for an operation which are available in the issued lots column of the BOM part.

About this task

As a user, you can define the raw material lot identifiers that are required to be used in the production of a specific lot. This is done through ERP integration.

Procedure

  1. Refer to 'Creating Assignment Import Document' in the ERP Integration guide to tag the specific lot using JSON document.
  2. Access a BOM Part of an operation to which you want to consume the material lot(s).
The ISSUED LOT column is updated with the quantity of lots.
    Note:
    • When you select the BOM part, the page containing the BOM part details and the Issued Lots tab appears in the Consumption History window.
    • When there are issued lots available, the operator will be unable to create new serial/lot(s). In the consumption window, the search capability will be limited to only the issued lots. This condition ensures that the operator consumes the lot(s) exclusively from the Issued Lots section.
The following table provide information on each column in the Issued Lots section.
    Column Description
SERIAL/LOT# The serial/lot of the raw material that is assigned to the work order.
MATERIAL The material number of the BOM item.
AVAILABLE QTY The available quantity of the serial/lot.
REQUIRED QTY The total quantity required to complete the operation.
ISSUED QTY The total quantity issued for the operation for the BOM item.
REMAINING ISSUED QTY The quantity that is left after consuming from the ISSUED QTY.
QTY TO CONSUME Box to enter the quantity of consumption of the BOM item.
STORAGE UNIT The unit currently storing the selected product.
DATE/TIME Storage date/time of the serial/lot. By default, the date/time results are sorted in chronological order.
  3. In the QTY TO CONSUME box, enter the quantity of consumption of the BOM item.
  4. Select Consume.
The AVAILABLE QTY field will be updated with the quantity available after consumption. An entry for the consumption of the material is added to the table in the Consumption History section.
    Note:
If you try to consume more than the available quantity, then the following message appears.

Quantity to Consume should be always lesser than the Available Quantity.

    Note:
If the serial/lot is not available in Plant Applications, you will not be allowed to consume the lot(s) and also the quantity to consume field will be empty.
