Add a Tool to a Quality Variable

About this task

Use this procedure to add calibrated tools when adding quality variables to an operation.

Procedure

  1. Access the operation whose quality variables you want to access.
  2. Select the Quality tab.
    The Quality page appears.
    Note:
    When the RECORD TOOL option is configured for the variables, only then the system displays the TOOL column.
  3. On the Quality page, select Add Tool.
    The Add Tools page appears and displays all tools available for the variable.
  4. On the Add Tools page do the following:
    Field Description
    TOOL NAME Displays a list of tools configured in the Work Order Manager. You can select more than one calibrated tools from the list. When a tool is out for calibration, it is disabled and cannot be selected.
    REQUIRED TOOL CONSUMPTION Displays the data configured in the Work Order Manager application. This is read-only field.
    MINIMUM TOOLS REQUIRED Displays the configured minimum tool data.
    TOOL PREFERENCE Displays the selected preferred tools.
    REMAINING USAGE COUNT Displays the available usage count. When the tool exceeds the usage count, it is grayed out.
  5. Select Add.
    The calibrated tool is added and is displayed in the TOOLS column.
  6. In the VALUE column, enter the variable value.
