Plot Tags for Time Series Charts
The default ad hoc analysis chart has no tags plotted, so you must search for tags and plot them manually.
Alert and Cases charts contain pre-plotted tags that depend on of the alert or case that was selected.
To view the chart of any tag, simply drag and drop the chart from the tag browser tree into the charting area.
About Chart Headers
When the Enable Chart Subtitle setting is enabled, the chart header allows you to expand and collapse the amount of detail that is displayed using the icon .
When the Enable Chart Subtitle setting is disabled, the basic tag information is displayed in the header and the icon is not available.
The basic tag information includes the following:
- (Tag Alias Name)
- Tag Data Source Name
- Description
- UOM
The tag path information that is displayed either in the Chart subtile or in the main Chart header includes the following:
- Model Name
- Mode Name
- Asset Name
- Asset Parent Name
Chart Actions
The right end of the chart header displays the chart action icons.

About Forecasting
When forecasting is enabled on a tag, the default forecast settings are applied and the chart will utilizes the tags data to generate a linear trend base on the last 8 days of data.
The type of forecast trend and the number of days can be adjusting from the forecast settings dialog.

The training data (days) used to generate the forecast will be highlighted on the chart and that window can be modified by clicking and dragging it to another range on the displayed data.

The lines that follow the highlighted training area is the forecast. You can hover over any point in the forecast to see a tooltip of the values.

The lines displayed represent the forecast as well as the positive and negative confidence in that forecasted value.
About Tag Thresholds
When you enable the tag thresholds icon on a tag, a new section appears to the right of the chart. The contents and actions allowed in this section will vary depending on the user permissions, the configuration of the tag, and the status of the corresponding asset.

The following tag values are available in Tag Thresholds depending on the tag configuration.

Reset Values to Blueprint
When you customize a tag value from the value set in the blueprint, the corresponding value is displayed in bold format and the icon appears next to the value. If you click on this icon, a window that shows the blueprint value is displayed; if you have edit permission, you will have an option to reset the value to the blueprint value. Clicking outside the window will close it.
Save Threshold Changes
When you select the Save button after making changes to the tag value, the value will be updated in the active asset without requiring a check-out or check-in action.
Chart Markers
Each chart can have a series of chart markers above and below the time series lines. The following markers are displayed if applicable, above the chart:

Tag Rule Markers | The shape and color of Tag Rule events are defined in SmartSignal Blueprint Center for the specific rule. The tag rule marker will appear in the first row above the chart. |
Diagnostic Rule Markers | The shape and color of Diagnostic Rule events are defined in SmartSignal Blueprint Center for the specific rule. The diagnostic rule marker will appear in the second row above the chart (i.e. above the tag rule markers). |
