APM Release Notes v2.2

Provides a list of new and updated features for this release, as well as any resolved issues, limitations, and known issues.

New and Updated Features

Data

Link asset and time series data.
Change time series data source configuration without restarting service.
Maintain Raw tag name.
Round time series data based on tenant configuration.
Ability to query data by tag level attributes.
Support custom attributes for S2C.
S2C stamps tenant ID on every data point.

Analytics:

Execute an analytic, UI re-factoring for deployment configuration.

Asset:

Manage tag alias.
View asset details page.
Ability to view tag class definition.
Ingestion of tag classifications.
In addition to ingesting tags, you can add, update, and delete tags through the APM user interface.
Prefix <assetid> not required for tag source id.
You do not have to add the prefix <assetid> to the tag source id when ingesting tags as long as you match the time series tagid to the id in tags{}.

Resolved Issues

Resolved issues are those defects that have been fixed for the release.

Tracking ID	Description
DE15720	When the user has no roles assigned, it displays the option as Logout or contact admin. Cannot logout successfully.
DE16323, DE16326, DE16330, DE16344, DE16484, DE16485	Various errors with functionality using IE11.
DE17326	After an alert profile is saved, you can save again. An error message appears as "An error occurred while saving the profile."

Limitations

Limitations are issues that document performance or system behaviors that may pertain to things such as the APM application, the operating system, or the browser.

The following functionality may experience performance degradation if limitations are exceeded:

Cases query	More than 5 cases.
Time series incremental ingestion	2 concurrent transactions of time series ingestions are made with 5 new assets, 20 tags per asset, and 5 data points per tag.
Time series ingestion	Not more than 5,000 tags in a single transaction.

Function	Limitation
APM Application	The APM application https://apm.predix.com is not accessible by the public. An internal GE SSO or whitelist entry is required for access.
User Management - Roles	"No roles assigned" exceptions are presented intermittently upon login when the user-asset assignment has been unintentionally deleted from the backend. You should assign more than one user administrator role, so that if one administrator loses access, another administrator can reinstate access, ensuring redundancy. If monitoring and diagnostics manager or users lose access, they can contact a user administrator to reinstate access.
User Management	The application does not validate GESSO when creating a user account. When an invalid GESSO is entered during this process, the application still creates the user. It is the user administrator's responsibility to determine which GESSOs are valid in this workflow. This limitation applies to bulk user uploads as well.
User Management	In the user list, full-name searches (first name + last name) are not supported. The search feature supports simple searches by first name, last name, or username.
User Management	When adding a user on the Add User page, the username searches are case-sensitive.
User Management	For a user with the M&D Manager permission set, the permission set automatically becomes inactive if all assets are inactive. When the permission set is activated, all assigned assets are activated.
Analytics	The application supports one deployment per analytic.

Known Issues

Known issues are those issues that are documented in the defect tracking system that affect this release, and may be fixed in a future release.

Tracking ID	Description
DE12793	When the name of a tag displayed in the tag search tool box is too long , the "+" icon can be used to add the tag to the chart overlaps on the tag name and potentially covering the last few letters of the tag name.
DE17324	If more tags are ingested successfully, data is not returned if tag is queried.
DE17406	It is recommended that no more than 250 assets with a total of 5,000 tags be processed in a single ingestion. If the numbers are greater than what is recommended, the system may not perform as expected. This may require to break up files into smaller manageable sizes.
DE21047	When saving an analysis template with tags, the tag display preference is not saved in the template. All the saved templates display the tags in the GE tag mode.
DE25177	When many requests are submitted to the asset query service within a short period of time, the response is taking longer than expected. You can use the performance metrics to throttle the number of requests made based on the needs of the calling application.
DE25965	When updating a group type with a URI for a tag type that does not exist, then an inappropriate exception of 500 INTERNAL SERVER ERROR is returned instead of 404 NOT FOUND.
DE25971	When updating a tag group with a URI for a tag that does not exist, then an inappropriate exception of 500 INTERNAL SERVER ERROR is returned instead of 404 NOT FOUND.
DE26146	Asset ingestion only works by providing Zip file types. If other file types are provided the system still reports successfully, but the file will not be ingested.
DE26217	If a muted tag that has been previously plotted on an analysis chart during an ad hoc analysis session is dragged on to a new chart, the tag is plotted on the new chart even though the tag state is muted. The workaround is to not drag and drop muted tags to new charts.
DE26620	When adding a muted tag or tags to an analysis template and saving it , the muted state of the tag is not retained when the template is used subsequently. The workaround is to mute the tag or tags every time the template is used.
DE27221	When creating a new tag, the drop-down to select the tag class is not rendering correctly. The drop-down does allow users to select a tag class and does not restrict users from completing the creation of a tag.
DE28007	In the analysis section of the application,when zooming in on the data on the charts, the zoom state persists across all the other analysis charts that were viewed during that session. The workaround is to press the Reset Zoombutton on any other charts for the charts to return to normal mode.
DE28011	User Admins that are assigned exclusively to a user group with an M&D Manager role are not be able to see the User Group asset assignment on their Profile page.
DE28409	In Process Optimization Thermodynamic views (Gas Turbine Performance, Compressor Performance, Heat Exchange Performance, Hydraulic Turbine Performance) the tool tip on chart does not change when selecting different name with previous KPI. The workaround is to change the asset, select a different KPI, and then select whatever KPI you want.
