The following enhancements and new features have been added.

In the Legacy Predix APM environment, you can now create and customize visualizations for the time series data that is collected for a set of asset tags associated with your tenant. To facilitate this enhancement, a new data source, timeseries_run_custom_business_view, has been added to Advanced Visualization.

Additionally, a new button, Tag Browser, has been added to the Advanced Visualization Designer page. The Tag Browser window allows you to browse assets and the associated asset tags to access the corresponding time series data.

When accessing SmartSignal data in a dashboard, you can now filter the data for a specific period. To facilitate this enhancement, the following baseline reporting objects have been added to the gedigital-baseline workspace:
  • events_reporting_object
  • jobs_reporting_object
Note: In addition to the features provided by SmartSignal baseline and custom business views, the reporting objects allow you to configure a custom date range in dashboards to view SmartSignal data for the specified duration.

You can now configure the time series data visualizations to display the Units of Measure (UOM) based on the System of Measure setting of the My Preferences page. To facilitate this enhancement, the following fields have been added to the timeseries_run_custom_business_view data source:

  3. Select the row for the Storage key, and then delete the key.
  4. Refresh GE Digital APM.
  5. In the column containing timestamps, in the Filter box, select the drop-down menu.

    A window appears, containing the FROM and TO fields to configure a date range to view data for the specified duration.

The following enhancements and new features have been added.

The chart controls are enhanced for usabilty. To facilitate this enhancement, the following changes have been implemented:
  • Selection of common chart controls such as zoom, cross-hair, and so on is applied across all the charts in a card and also across all the charts in any other card in the view. Any new charts added to the cards also retain the common chart controls selection made in one card. Deleting the chart or the card or moving to another card does not change the common chart controls selection. The sub configuration options of the common chart controls do not open for all the charts on which the selection is propagated.
  • The common chart control selections are reset when you select another chart control outside the common controls and refresh the chart.
  • When navigating to Analysis from an Alert, the selection of common chart controls is retained on the charts.
  • The selection of common chart controls is retained on the Event Data Analysis charts.

The Search Browser pane for tag search results is now enhanced for usability and efficiency. To facilitate this enhancement, the following changes have been implemented:
  • The Search button now appears below the Search box and the area of the Search box has been increased to allow more search criteria entries. The Search button is enabled only when any search criteria are added to the Search box. The Search button is disabled after the search is triggered until a new criterion is added or any existing criteria is modified.
  • Hovering over the search criteria chip displays an information tooltip prompting you to double click the tag to modify the search criterion or click the Cancel () icon to clear the criterion.
  • You can now search for up to 100 tags in a single search that are copied from a .CSV file or a notepad to the Search box. To facilitate this enhancement, pagination is now introduced so that you can view a maximum of 40 search results in each page.
  • If all the search results appear on one page, the Select All check box now appears on the Search Browser. You can select all the tags from the search results to add to a chart, by selecting this check box.
  • If the search results appear on multiple pages, the Select Visible Tags check box now appears on the Search Browser. You can select all the visible tags on the page to add to a chart by selecting this check box.
  • You can now select multiple tags from the tag search results to add to a chart, by using the Shift key or the Control key on the keyboard. You can select a maximum of 40 tags.
  • The search results header now displays the number of search results that are selected.
  • The Search box scrollbar now works only when you enter more than 10 search criteria in the box.
  • The search help icon and the help text have been updated.

You can now search the Asset and Tag instances with special characters in the attribute values. To enable this feature, the following changes have been made:
  • While creating or modifying the Tag instances from the UI Asset microapp, you can add UTF-8 special characters to the attribute values.
  • While creating or modifying the first class (Name, Source ID, and Description fields), reserved, and custom attributes for the Tags instances from the UI Asset microapp, you can add UTF-8 special characters.
  • While creating or modifying Asset and Tag instances through API or Asset Ingestion, you can add UTF-8 special characters to the attribute values.
  • While searching for a value that contains UTF-8 special characters through the user interface, you can search all the values with special characters except ,(comma), :(colon), and *(asterisk) characters.
  • While searching for a value that contains special characters through the GET API and Query Endpoints, you must add a \(backslash) before the special character to escape the ,(comma), :(colon), \(backslash), =(equals), ()(parenthesis), |(pipe), ‘(single quotes), and *(asterisk) characters.
    Note: If the value itself contains a backslash, you must escape it by adding another backslash.

The following issues, which existed in one or more previous versions, have been resolved.

The user interface of the Cases module has been enhanced with a new look and feel to manage the cases lifecycle more efficiently. The following list provides some of the key capabilities offered by the enhanced user interface:
  • Enhanced Grid View: Provides a new interactive layout with better information accessibility. The new layout enables you to drag the columns to reorder them and freeze the grid columns. Additionally, you can now group more than three columns at a time and view the case count for each group and sub-group.
  • Enhanced Filter Cases Window: Provides a new layout of the Filter Cases window to improve the usability when creating and modifying the custom filters.
  • Enhanced Case Details Page: Provides an improved layout for the Case Details page with ease of navigation to different sections of the page through a shortcut menu. You can now access all levels of hierarchy for the asset associated with a case. Additionally, the Timeline View has been enhanced with an improved layout.
  • Enhanced View for Work History and Recommendations: Provides an improved layout of the Work History and Recommendations sections in the Case Details page. You can now view all the recommendations and work histories associated with a case.
  • PDF Report for a Section: Allows you to generate PDF reports for specific sections of the Case Details page.
Note: The previous version of the Cases module is still available in GE Digital APM as CasesV1 for a seamless transition to the latest version and to minimize operational risks.

  • The notification that is triggered when a case is created now includes the name of the site at which the asset associated with the case is located.
  • The notification that is triggered when a case is assigned to a user now includes the identifier and name of the asset associated with the case. Additionally, the notification now contains the name of the site at which the asset associated with the case is located.
