APM Release Notes for the Second Quarter of 2018

The GE Digital Applications Information Development team is excited to present our new documentation portal for GE Digital applications documentation.

Documentation Build Date: April 25, 2018

What has changed in this release?

This portal is currently available for legacy Predix cloud solutions for APM and OPM. It will soon be expanded to become the centralized location for all end-user documentation for GE Digital applications.

The new portal offers a streamlined presentation of content and will have additional capabilities and enhancements added over time to help you find the answers you need fast.

Here are some of the features available now:

  • The portal is presented with an updated look and feel with responsive design accessible on smaller screens, tablets, and mobile devices.
  • APM and OPM have their respective document landing pages.
  • The standardized modular document architecture has been carried forward from existing webhelp into the new portal.
  • Contents are organized in functional groups for each product with selectable navigation links.
  • Search is available at product and module levels.
  • A new In this Document drop-down is accessible on the top-right of the each content page. Use this menu to navigate to a specific section of the page.

Known Limitations

  • The topic navigation is only scrollable after scrolling to the bottom of the content page. This is typically not an issue with shorter navigation menu, but, for modules with long navigation menus, you must first scroll to the bottom of the active content page, and then continue scrolling through the left navigation.

In Time Series Data, the /v1 endpoints from the apm-timeseries-query-svc application have been deprecated. Consumers of the query endpoint should migrate to /v2 or above versions of the existing apm-timeseries-query-svc.

In addition, ingestion functionality from the apm-timeseries-query-svc application have been removed. Ingestion functionality will be available in the new module, apm-timeseries-ingestion-svc, which improves performance and adaptability.

Consumers of the ingestion endpoints on the existing apm-timeseries-query-svc should migrate to use the /v2 version endpoint on the new ingestion service, apm-timeseries-ingestion-svc.
