About Data Validation

Using Proficy MDC, you can validate that the data has been ingested correctly. You can validate the following:
  • Record count: Validates that the number of records that are ingested is the same as the number of records that are created or updated in the Plant Applications database.
  • Data accuracy: Validates that the data that is ingested is the same as the data that is created or updated in the Plant Applications database.

The logs that are generated in data validation are used to maintain a record of data that has been updated and ingested in a given duration. If data validation fails, a log file is generated in New Relic Synthetics.

After the data is validated, it is purged.
