Add a Tool to an Operation

Before you begin

  1. Start the work order.
  2. Start the operation.

About this task

Use this procedure to add calibrated tool while executing the operation.

Procedure

  1. In the Unit Operations page, select an operation.
    The workspace for the operation appears.
  2. Select the Tool tab.
    The Tool page appears.
  3. On the Tool page, select Add Tools.
    The Add Tools page appears.
  4. On the Add Tools page, do the following:
    Note:
    To further limit your search, you can type the full text string for a tool category in the Search field. This displays all tool categories with their associated tools. However, if you type a partial text string, then the search results display all levels of tool categories with only the last level displaying associated tools under it. For example, in the Search field, if you type a partial text string for a tool category name, such as S1_Cat1_L1. The search result displays only tools at the last level category.
    Field Description
    TOOL NAME Displays a list of tools configured in the Route Editor application. You can select more than one calibrated tools from the list. When a tool is out for calibration, it is disabled and cannot be selected.
    REQUIRED TOOL CONSUMPTION Displays the data configured in the Route Editor application. This is read-only field.
    MINIMUM TOOLS REQUIRED Displays the configured minimum tool data.
    TOOL PREFERENCE Displays the selected preferred tools.
    REMAINING USAGE COUNT Displays the remaining usage count. When the tool exceeds the usage count or if the tool is out for calibration, then it is grayed out and you cannot select the tool.
  5. Select Add.
    The selected tool is added and is displayed in the TOOLS column.
  6. Click Record Tool to save the tool that is selected.
    Note:
    The tool quantity is consumed when you complete an operation.
  7. Complete the operation.
