View OEE Calculation for Discrete Lines

The OEE calculation for Discrete Lines measures the performance and quality losses in terms of loss of production availability or productivity that are attributed to the performance and quality, respectively.

Before you begin

Do the following:
  1. Configure the Production Rate Specification for OEE
  2. Add a Route
  3. Create a Work Order

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Plant Applications Web Client.
  2. Select OEE Dashboard.
A page displaying the Equipment summary appears.
  3. Select Summary in the View by field.
  4. In the drop-down list box next to the View by field, select a time range.
Based on the inputs and value, you can view the OEE calculation for discrete lines.
    Inputs Value
    Planned Production Time 24hr
    Actual production 90 units
    Order Planned Quantity 100 units
    Availability Downtime unit1 1hr
    Unit1 with defects 10

The following table provides the value of each OEE parameter calculated based on the formula described in the earlier section:

OEE Parameter Parameter Value Formula Used Explanation
Availability 23/24=96% Availability = Net availability run time/Planned production time. For Unit1: Planned Production Time=24 hr. Availability downtime=1 hr

    Net availability run time=24-1=23hr

    Quality 80/90=0.8 Quality = Net production/Actual production Unit1: Actual Production=90 units

    Waste=10 units

    Net production=90-10=80

    Performance 90/100=0.9 Performance = Actual production/Target production Unit1: Actual production=90 units

    Target production=100 units
