TASNEE Boosts Plant Reliability & Performance with Asset Health Management Customer Story Bar Share Customer Information Introduction Industry Chemicals Products Condition-Based Maintenance The Challenge: The primary challenge faced by TASNEE was the underutilization and lack of awareness about the Asset Performance Management (APM) tool within the organization. Despite having the tool since 2007, it was not effectively used or understood by the employees. The company needed to reinforce the utility of APM, improve asset integrity, and demonstrate the value of investing in such software. Additionally, the team experienced challenges in interfacing the tool with existing systems, determining appropriate parameters for asset health, and setting up value thresholds for these parameters. The Solution: TASNEE adopted a multi-layered approach aimed at maximizing the utility and effectiveness of the Asset Performance Management (APM) software. Initially, the company focused on developing a seamless interface between the APM software and their existing systems, such as SAP, their CMMS system, and historian data, to ensure smooth data flow and integration. Following this, a critical step was taken to identify and establish appropriate parameters for asset health monitoring, setting up precise value thresholds for these parameters to accurately gauge the health and performance of assets. To facilitate easy monitoring and quick decision-making, comprehensive dashboards were created at various levels — executive management, engineers and managers, and maintenance teams — providing a clear visualization of asset health and risk levels. An alert system was implemented to send near real-time notifications to the respective engineers and management based on the assessed risk levels of parameters, ensuring prompt action could be taken when necessary. Lastly, the company established a system for continuous monitoring of critical assets and systems, with a strong emphasis on maintaining assets within safe operating conditions. This holistic approach not only addressed the initial challenges but also significantly enhanced the overall asset management strategy of the company. The Result : Improved plant performance and asset reliability: Achieved good improvement in plant performance through the elimination of performance killers and bad actorsEnhanced monitoring: Successfully monitored over 80 critical assets with health indicators, leading to increased system availability and reduced failuresCooling water system dashboard: Developed a dashboard for the critical cooling water system within two months, which helped in managing risk and eliminating failures (See Image Below)Risk management: Implemented a risk management system that tracks all risks and sends automated notifications based on health indicators.Behavioral change: Shift towards a predictive maintenance concept, reducing failures and improving system fidelity.Value realization: Tangible benefits including fault detection, ensuring analyser accuracy, and overall improved asset management.Future plans: Plans to include reliability growth analysis, statistical process control, and other advanced features in the asset health monitoring system.
