Creating Revisions to a BOM
You can now create a new revision for a BOM that is released. The new revision to the BOM formulation may be required if you want to add, modify, or remove the BOM item(s) in the BOM formulation. Thus, creating a new revision to an existing BOM item will allow you to consume both the old and revised BOM formulations while creating a route in the Route Editor application.
Before you begin
Procedure

Create a BOM Formulation.
The BOM formulation that you created will be in the Drafts section.

created.

- You can enter the reason for creating new BOM revision in the
REASON box.Note:You cannot exceed 500 characters.
Note:You can configure a PRE or POST call for the BOM Release action in the Configuration application. This PRE call executes when you try to Release a BOM item. If the PRE call fails due to custom logic or validation checks, the BOM Editor application will not allow the release action. However, if you remove the PRE call configuration, the BOM Editor application will skip the PRE call and allow the BOM item to be released. The POST call configuration can only be executed after the PRE call or after the release action completes.Important:Custom calls are not available if the BOM revision site parameter is disabled. -
Select Next.
The BOM will appear in the Drafts section with the Revision number 1. The BOM revision number will remain 1 until you create a new revision on this BOM.Note:In Route Editor, when you try to add the BOM formulation while creating a route, you will be prompted with two options of BOM revisions (that is, revision 0 and revision 1) for the same BOM name. You can then select the <BOM name> REV 0 or REV 1 in accordance with the route requirements.
