Hon. Roger Martella

Roger Martella is Chief Corporate Officer, where he serves on GE Vernova's Executive Leadershp Team in addition to Head of Global Government Affairs and Policy, and Chief Sustainability Officer. In this role, Roger engages the world’s top public and private sector leaders to solve for energy affordability, reliability, security, and sustainability. 

Prior to joining GE in 2017, Roger served as General Counsel of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency during the George W. Bush Administration, where he was unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate, and as Principal Counsel for Complex Litigation for the Department of Justice’s Natural Resources Section, where he won every case he litigated. Roger also co-led Sidley Austin LLP's global environmental and climate change practices and was recognized by his peers as the top lawyer in the field globally. 

Roger is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the boards of the Atlantic Council, the ClearPath Foundation, the American Conservation Coalition, the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions, among other energy and environmental NGOs and think tanks. 

Roger holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and a Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt Law School, where he was Editor in Chief of the Vanderbilt Law Review. Roger grew up in Norristown, PA, where he grew up working in his family’s corner Italian bakery.
