Philippe Piron has been appointed CEO of GE Vernova’s Electrification segment, which comprises a number of high‑growth businesses delivering power grid systems and energy conversion solutions.  Previously CEO of Electrification Systems, Philippe expands his role to lead the full Electrification segment with the addition of Software and the recently acquired Prolec business.

The Electrification business at GE Vernova offers systems, equipment, software and services essential for the transmission, distribution, conversion, storage, and orchestration of electricity from generation to consumption.

GE Vernova was successfully listed as an independent company following its spin‑off from General Electric in April 2024, alongside GE Aerospace and GE Healthcare. The company is organized around three major business segments: Power, Wind, and Electrification. GE Vernova employs approximately 85,000 people worldwide, including nearly 32,000 in the Electrification segment across more than 60 countries.

A French national, Philippe Piron has more than 25 years of international experience in the development and transformation of advanced industrial and technology companies. His background spans aerospace and defense, energy, telecommunications, and digital industries.

Philippe Piron joined GE in November 2020 as President and CEO of GE Power Conversion. Prior to this, he served as President and CEO of Alcatel Submarine Networks (Telecom, Oil & Gas, Defense), CEO within the GEA Group (Oil & Gas, Power, Renewables), and Managing Director of Roxel Propulsion Systems (Aerospace & Defense, Energetics).

Philippe Piron holds a PhD from Ecole Polytechnique, was named a Knight of the French Legion of Honor, and is based at GE Vernova’s Electrification HQ in Paris, France.
