CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (September 16, 2026) – Vineyard Wind and GE Vernova today announced that the parties have reached an amicable settlement to resolve all outstanding litigation regarding the Vineyard Wind offshore wind project. As part of this agreement, GE Vernova has withdrawn its notice of termination, and both parties have agreed to dismiss all pending legal claims.
The Vineyard Wind project is a key part of Massachusetts and New England’s plan to meet rising electricity demand. Today, all turbines are capable of producing power, providing reliable, affordable energy to more than 400,000 homes and businesses while bolstering grid stability across the Commonwealth. Beyond its energy contribution, the project is a significant economic engine, having created nearly 4,000 jobs and $1.94 billion in total economic output to date. Its environmental impact is equally substantial, cutting carbon emissions by more than 1.6 million metric tons annually—the equivalent of removing 325,000 cars from the road.
