EnBW unlocks data integration for future-ready platform with Utilihive

EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, one of Germany’s top three utilities, was working on a new IT architecture for its metering business and a platform for the future. The company needed to establish a new, future-orientated IT solution for the German market role of the meter operator.

EnBW selected Utilihive for the integration of metering-specific services within its event-driven and loosely coupled IT architecture. Utilihive’s modern, cloud-native SaaS technology enables EnBW to apply state-of-the-art technology and increase project speed and scalability. Utilihive provides the integration of meter-specific services in a new, multi-layered IT architecture which will push EnBW’s metering business. This includes several systems of records, such as meter data management and device management. 

Utilihive and EnBW worked in close partnership on an agile project model. The initial pilot, which aimed to prove the architectural concept and capabilities of Utilihive, was completed in just eight weeks. The built-in flexibility of Utilihive gives EnBW the flexibility, speed, and scalability that is needed in the fast-changing digitalization of the market.
