As the global energy transition continues, customers and regulators increasingly require specific information about a product’s environmental footprint. GE Vernova’s Eco-design team addresses that need by offering a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) which includes manufacturing information about a product, like the impact of materials production and factory energy consumption and emissions; distribution, including packaging production and transportation; use, in terms of power consumption and maintenance; and end-of-life disposal. December 17, 2021 -- GE Vernova’s Grid Solutions and Fujitsu announced today an agreement to sell GE Vernova’s EnergyAPM, asset performance management solutions, in Japan.

In 2014, GE Vernova announced its game-changing g³ insulating and switching gas in replacement of SF₆ for its high voltage equipment. Just three years later, Axpo, the largest producer of renewable energy and a distribution grid operator in Switzerland, energized the first F35g 145 kV g³ gas-insulated substation (GIS) at its Etzel substation near Zürich.

Paris, FRANCE — September 1, 2022 — GE Vernova Renewable Energy's Grid Solutions business (NYSE: GEV) has entered into a framework agreement to deliver Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOMs) in the coming years to Germany's transmission system operator (TSO) 50Hertz. As a part of the framework agreement, GE Vernova has been chosen to deliver the first Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOMs) to increase grid stability.

In 2019, Groupe E, a major power utility in Switzerland, contracted GE Vernova for the delivery of seven GL312g g³ live tank circuit breakers for the renovation of their Planchamps substation in the Neuchâtel region. In line with their sustainability targets, Groupe E is one of the first power distribution operators in Europe to select GE Vernova’s GL312g circuit breakers using g³ insulating and switching gas instead of SF₆.
