GE Vernova Renewable Energy’s Grid Solutions business has just energized Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) Transmission’s first g³ gas-insulated New Deer substation. This represents the world’s largest installation to date of g³ gas, GE Vernova’s alternative to SF₆.

Thanks to their high transmission capacities and reliability, gas-insulated lines and busbars (GIL and GIB, respectively), have been in use for over half a century in power plants and in high voltage substations.

GE Vernova Renewable Energy’s Onshore Wind team and GE Vernova’s Grid Solutions Services team have joined forces to digitize the maintenance of the balance of plant (BoP) systems at eight onshore wind farms in Pakistan’s Jhimpir region.

The shift from time-based maintenance to condition-based maintenance uses GE Vernova’s Asset Performance Management (APM) grid solution to drive OPEX and CAPEX optimization and enhance the wind farms’ reliability and availability.

(Empresa Distribuidora Sur S.A.), part of Enel Argentina, to provide preventive maintenance and strategic spare parts for three key substations. Morocco, February 10, 2021 – GE Vernova was awarded a contract to build two substations in the south of Morocco that will evacuate power from the Boujdour wind farm and other renewable energy projects to neighboring communities, as well as connect it to the national grid of Morocco.
