GE Vernova completes Prolec GE acquisition, accelerating Electrification segment growth trajectory

6 min read
  • Milestone further positions GE Vernova as a global leader serving growing grid markets by expanding its presence and support in North America

  • Prolec GE and its affiliates will go to market as GE Vernova, operating within the Electrification segment

  • Transaction is immediately accretive and now reflected in GE Vernova’s latest 2026 financial guidance and outlook by 2028

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (February 2, 2026) – GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE: GEV) today announced it has completed the acquisition of the remaining 50% stake of Prolec GE, its former unconsolidated joint venture with Xignux (“Prolec GE”). The transaction, originally announced in October 2025, closed following receipt of all required regulatory approvals, for a purchase price of $5.275 billion, funded as previously disclosed with an equal mix of cash and debt.

Prolec GE is an electric industry leader in North America, with approximately 10,000 employees across seven manufacturing sites in the Americas, including five in the U.S. It produces a wide variety of transformers and transformer components for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity, complemented by its broad transformer services offering. This acquisition consolidates Prolec GE after 30 years of partnership as a joint venture.

“We’re excited to reach this important milestone with our first sizable acquisition as a standalone public company and welcome the Prolec GE team into GE Vernova,” said GE Vernova CEO Scott Strazik. “We are building on a decades-long partnership and combining the strengths of our two companies to offer customers a broader portfolio and operate at a higher capacity to fulfill expectations, especially in North America where grid demand is strong. As we continue to focus on our mission to electrify to thrive and decarbonize the world, this acquisition will play a critical role in driving our sustained growth in Electrification.”

Prolec GE will go to market as GE Vernova and operate within GE Vernova’s Electrification segment. The deal is immediately accretive before synergies and is expected to drive additional profitable growth for GE Vernova, which is now reflected in GE Vernova’s latest 2026 financial guidance and outlook by 2028.

“Our customers are asking for more capacity from the grid,” said GE Vernova Electrification CEO Philippe Piron. “With Prolec GE now fully part of GE Vernova, we are better equipped to respond to that demand and better serve our installed base, utilizing our combined manufacturing footprint for transformers and a strong pipeline of innovation to serve the electrification needs of the world. Our priority from day one is a smooth integration, where customers continue to receive the service and quality they expect, supported by the scale of the combined Prolec GE and GE Vernova teams.”

GE Vernova will retain the current leadership across Prolec GE, with Ricardo Suarez remaining in his role as Prolec GE CEO reporting to Philippe Piron.

“Joining GE Vernova as a fully integrated business is a natural next step in our journey after years of partnership,” said Prolec GE CEO Ricardo Suarez. “We are proud of our strong culture and the legacy we’ve built, and as part of the one GE Vernova family, we will adapt and embrace the GE Vernova Way while maintaining the local culture, heritage and identity that made us who we are today. I am excited for the opportunities our employees will have to learn and grow further as part of a global industry leader, the continued investment in our sites, and an even stronger capability to serve our customers across North America.”

6 min read
  • USD 200,000 to support communities devastated by storms, flooding and mudslides in the Sumatra region of Indonesia and Central Vietnam

  • Funding will support Save the Children’s life-saving humanitarian response across both regions

Cambridge, Mass. (January 26, 2026) –The GE Vernova Foundation has awarded USD 200,000 in disaster relief to Save the Children to support emergency response and recovery efforts in the Sumatra region of Indonesia and Central Vietnam following months of severe storms, flooding, and landslides. Each region will receive USD 100,000 in funding to support local relief and recovery efforts.

The Foundation’s funding will support Save the Children’s life-saving humanitarian response across both regions, including emergency food assistance, access to clean water and hygiene supplies, temporary shelter, health services, and child-focused education recovery programs. The funding across the two countries is expected to support efforts to reach over 145,000 people, helping meet urgent humanitarian needs while supporting early recovery and stabilization efforts as affected communities work to rebuild.

“Natural disasters such as these affect families for years to come, and we are proud to work with Save the Children to help provide support needed to respond and rebuild in Vietnam and Indonesia,” said Kristin Carvell, President, GE Vernova Foundation and Chief Communications Officer, GE Vernova. “Our hearts go out to all those affected, and the GE Vernova Foundation will continue to support communities where our employees live and work.”

Ramesh Singaram, Board Director for the foundation and President and CEO for Asia, Gas Power, GE Vernova said: “Our commitment to the region goes beyond powering communities; we are dedicated to helping the people of Southeast Asia, especially in times of crisis. Through our disaster relief efforts in Indonesia and Vietnam, we aim to provide the immediate support necessary to restore stability and support the path forward to return to strength.”

“Save the Children stands with children and families affected by devastating floods in Vietnam and Indonesia,” said Pina Jabbari, Head of Corporate Partnerships, Save the Children US. “We’re grateful for partners like the GE Vernova Foundation, whose generous support enables us to deliver life-saving assistance, help children return to learning, and protect the most vulnerable when it matters most. Together, we’re working with communities as they recover and build resilience against future shocks.”

GE Vernova signs agreement to supply turbines for Australian wind farm

6 min read
  • Turbines will be used at 256 MW Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm in South Australia

  • Project to use GE Vernova’s 6 MW–158m workhorse turbine

  • Deal includes five-year full-service agreement

Sydney, Australia (December 23, 2025) – GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE: GEV) announced today that it has signed an agreement with Aula Energy to provide 42 6.1 MW–158m1 workhorse turbines for the Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm in Australia. GE Vernova’s scope includes turbine supply and installation, underpinned by a five-year full-service operation and maintenance agreement. The order was booked in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm follows an earlier deal to supply Aula Energy’s Boulder Creek Wind Farm project in Queensland, which closed in 2024 and features 38 GE Vernova 6 MW–164m turbines. Together, these two deals with Aula Energy in successive years highlight the ability of GE Vernova to support key customers in Australia.

GE Vernova is the only wind turbine OEM in Australia to have closed wind projects in nine successive years from 2017 to 2025, with Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm as the most recent success.

By continuing to deploy its proven 6 MW-class “workhorse” platform in Australia, GE Vernova and Aula Energy have been able to:

  • Streamline and shorten contract negotiation cycles, leveraging standardized commercial and technical frameworks; and
  • Accelerate the grid connection approval process, building on the platform’s established performance and grid credentials across multiple Australian states.  Grid approval for Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm was achieved nine months after application submission.

Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm is located approximately seven km east of the town of Georgetown in the Mid-North region of South Australia, around 180 km north of Adelaide.

Gilan Sabatier, Chief Commercial Officer for GE Vernova’s Onshore Wind business in International Markets, said, “We are delighted to build on our successful collaboration with Aula Energy to bring another high-quality wind project to Australia. Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm demonstrates how our workhorse strategy—deploying fewer turbine variants at scale—can help streamline contracting, accelerate grid approvals, and enhance quality and reliability across the fleet. With a broad cross-portfolio of capabilities and proven technology, GE Vernova is uniquely positioned to support Australia’s ambition to deliver more affordable, reliable and sustainable energy.”

Chad Hymas, Aula Energy CEO, said, “We’re pleased to be partnering once again with GE Vernova to deliver Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm. At Aula Energy we’re building enduring partnerships to lead Australia’s energy transition, faster, smarter, and with shared value for all. With the support of our partners, we’re committed to delivering a project that creates meaningful, long-term benefits for the Nukunu People, local communities, shareholders, and the sector.”

GE Vernova has a total installed base of approximately 57,000 turbines and nearly 120 GW of installed capacity worldwide. Committed to its customers' success for more than two decades, its product portfolio offers next-generation high-powered turbines at scale that drives decarbonization through high-quality, affordable, and sustainable renewable energy.

Australia has been part of the company’s story for more than 125 years and today is increasingly important for GE Vernova, providing careers for ~400 employees and ~200 field engineers across every state and territory. With more than 3 GW of wind turbines in operation or under construction, 10+ GW of gas-based power generation, software running 80% of the electricity grid, and providing ~40% of grid infrastructure of major utilities, GE Vernova is actively supporting efforts to make electricity more sustainable, affordable, reliable and accessible across Australia.

*Note to Editors: GE Vernova’s 6.1 MW turbine with a 158-meter rotor is what we refer to as the 6.1 MW–158m.

B20 South Africa: GE Vernova advances global energy security and affordability; supports historic West African grid synchronization

6 min read
  • Participating in the B20 Energy Mix & Just Transition Task Force, GE Vernova outlines priorities to help deliver a more affordable, reliable, sustainable, and secure energy future.

  • West African Power Pool (WAPP) completes first full regional grid synchronization trial, supported by GE Vernova’s grid software and consulting services expertise.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (November 20, 2025) – GE Vernova, Inc. (NYSE: GEV) is participating at B20 South Africa as part of the Energy Mix & Just Transition Task Force to help advance practical solutions that scale up more affordable, reliable, sustainable, and secure energy, and the grid infrastructure to support it. Alongside B20 participation, the company is highlighting a significant regional integration milestone achieved by the West African Power Pool (WAPP), supported by GE Vernova: WAPP conducted its first full regional electric system synchronization, unifying grid operations across 15 West African countries, including Nigeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, and Mauritania. WAPP is a specialized agency of Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) in charge of promoting and developing power generation and transmission infrastructure, as well as coordinating power exchange among the ECOWAS member states.

“At this moment, the B20 is a critical avenue to bring the private sector together with the commitments of the public sector to help lift up people through access to sustainable energy - from gas to renewables and a stronger grid - building a stronger future for all. As a member of the Energy Mix & Just Transition Task Force, GE Vernova is advancing practical, context specific solutions to accelerate a just and inclusive transition. And in West Africa, WAPP’s historic electric system synchronization shows what collaboration and technology can deliver,” said Roger Martella, Chief Corporate Officer and Chief Sustainability Officer, GE Vernova.

The electric system synchronization offers several advantages, including enhanced accessibility for countries to tap regional capacity to reduce outages and improve reliability, expand cross-border electricity trading, and better integrate renewables. Building on last year’s deployment of GE Vernova’s GridOS® orchestration software at WAPP’s Information and Coordination Centre (ICC) in Abomey-Calavi, Benin—the centralized command center for the ECOWAS interconnected grid—GridOS tools support dispatch, stability, and energy-flow forecasting across the network, giving operators real-time visibility to monitor, analyze, and optimize power flows. During the synchronization, GE Vernova's GridOS® Wide Area Monitoring System (WAMS) tracked grid dynamics in near real time, while GE Vernova’s Consulting Services provided the technical foundation through Power System Stabilizer (PSS) tuning, governor field testing and settings updates, and coordination of the WAPP network synchronization. GE Vernova’s Grid Automation telecom solution provided the communications backbone linking the ICC to national dispatch centers across West Africa, enabling coordinated regional operations and accurate, real-time data transfer down to the substation level for synchronization decisions. This trial confirms multiple national transmission system operators can operate reliably under ICC coordination and paves the way for an open regional electricity market to enhance cross-border power exchange across West Africa. This initial synchronization was a trial, with full permanent synchronization targeted for 2026.

At B20 South Africa, GE Vernova is also highlighting talent and skills as critical enablers of the transition. Globally, the GE Vernova Foundation is investing in technical and vocational pathways with a goal to reach 30,000 learners by 2030. In Johannesburg, the Next Engineers program has reached nearly 4,100 learners to date and awarded US$36,000 in scholarships to qualifying graduates. Complementing these efforts, GE Vernova awarded US$83,000 in scholarships to 10 South African graduates through its External Bursary Program, and since 2020 has provided comprehensive bursaries totaling US$7.3 million (R128.5 million) to more than 900 beneficiaries nationwide.

GE Vernova also recently convened the first Mendoza Collective Action Summit, bringing together public, private, and academic leaders to expand access to electricity in underserved communities and establishing the Mendoza Principles to guide future collaboration. “The global efforts underway to electrify the planet should enable all people to share in the benefits of affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy - and the economic opportunity it unlocks,” added Roger.

GE Vernova Charts a Path to a Reliable, Low-Carbon Energy Future for Germany

3 min read
  • New study/white paper identifies four priorities to align investment in generation, grid, and flexibility.

Berlin, 7 November 2025 - GE Vernova today offered solutions on how Germany can maintain a secure, affordable, and low-carbon electricity supply through 2035, following the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy’s (BMWE) latest Energiewende Monitoring Report and accompanying 10-Point Plan.

The company’s new white paper finds that Germany’s energy transition challenges such as renewable curtailment, grid congestion, and rising system costs cannot be solved by any single technology. Instead, they require an integrated system planning approach that links demand growth, renewable expansion, grid build-out, and dispatchable capacity into one coordinated framework.

“The Monitoring Report gets it right: Germany will need additional dispatchable capacity,” said Markus Becker, Executive Director, System Economics, GE Vernova’s Consulting Services. “The scale and timing, however, depend on how quickly flexibility, grid expansion, and demand evolve together. The answer is not one variable, it is how they work in concert.”

Building on this analysis, GE Vernova outlines four priorities for policymakers and planners as Germany implements the findings of the BMWE report:

  • Accelerate integrated system planning to align decisions on generation, transmission, and flexibility investments, ensuring reliability at the lowest total cost.
  • Scale flexibility and storage by expanding battery, demand-side, and digital solutions that make electricity demand an active contributor to system balance and help reduce renewable curtailment.
  • Deploy modern, efficient gas generation alongside technology-neutral decarbonization solutions, providing fast-response backup for renewables while enabling future decarbonization of thermal assets.
  • Advance market design for flexibility and adequacy by developing capacity and capability mechanisms that value firm capacity, fast response, and low-carbon flexibility together.

The paper also highlights the need for regional coordination within Europe’s interconnected power market and resilient supply chains for generation equipment, transformers, and grid infrastructure. Maintaining a strong domestic and European manufacturing base is key to ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

The full white paper can be accessed here.

GE Vernova has played a central role in Germany’s power sector for more than 100 years. Its equipment and solutions support approximately 30 percent (46 GW) of the country’s installed capacity and continue to underpin efforts to modernize and decarbonize the German grid.
