Link a BOM Item to Multiple Operations
About this task
Before you begin
- Ensure that the route is linked to the BOM formulation that is associated with the BOM items that you want to link. To do so, in the Edit Route window of the route, select the appropriate value in the BOM Formulation box.
- Create an operation in the route.
- Select
to synch the
latest BOM item details.
Procedure

Access the route that is linked to the operation to which you
want to link a BOM item.
The Edit Route page appears, displaying a list of operations linked to the route.

Select BOM.
The BOM workspace appears, displaying a list of BOM items in the MATERIAL DESC column along with the details such as sequence, material, required quantity, unit of measurement, and number of substitutions in the SEQ, MATERIAL, REQ QTY, UOM, and SUBSTITUTIONS columns, respectively.
- From the left pane, select ALL OPERATIONS.
- Select the required operation(s) or mutual exclusive operations set(s) from the list box in the OPERATIONS column for a BOM material.
- Select Add.

TOLERANCES table appears.

For each operation, select a value in each column as described
in the following table:
Column Description ALLOT QTY Enter the quantity that you want to allot to the selected operation. LOWER QTY (Optional) Enter the minimum quantity that needs to be consumed during the operation. UPPER QTY (Optional) Enter the maximum quantity that needs to be consumed during the operation. MANDATORY Select Yes if it is mandatory to consume the specified allotted quantity. By default, the value in this box is No. Note:The total quantity allotted to the operations must be equal to the required quantity of the BOM material. - Select Save.
