Add or Modify a Tool to a Route

Create a route and add an operation to it.

About this task

Use this procedure to add or modify a tool to a route at an operation or variable level.

Procedure

  1. On the Route Editor page, select the route to which you want to add the tool.
    The Edit Route page appears.
  2. Select the Variables tab.
    The Variables page appears.
  3. On the Variables page, if the RECORD TOOL option is set to True, then in the TOOLS column, you can select tools.
  4. Click Add Tools.
    The Add Tools page appears and displays a list of tool categories, sub-categories, and tools.
  5. On the Add Tools page, do the following:

    To further limit your search, you can type the full text string for a tool category in the Search field. This displays all tool categories with their associated tools. However, if you type a partial text string, then the search results display all levels of tool categories with only the last level displaying associated tools under it. For example, in the Search field, if you type a partial text string for a tool category name, such as S1_Cat1_L1. The search result displays only tools at the last level category.
    Field Description
    TOOLS Displays a list of tools configured. Select the required calibrated tool from the list. When a tool is out for calibration, it is disabled and cannot be selected.
    REQUIRED TOOL CONSUMPTION Is enabled when you select a category or a subcategory that have tools directly associated to it. The selected tools are required for the execution of a work order.
    MINIMUM TOOLS REQUIRED Allows to enter the number of minimum tools required. The default value is 1.
    TOOL PREFERENCE Allows to specify a preferred tool to be used as a part of the configuration. You can select one or more tools.
  6. Select Add.
    The selected tool is added and is displayed in the TOOLS column.
  7. If you are updating the tool information, then select Update.
  8. Select Save.
